Four pillars of distinction

There is so much advice right now when you’re competing for the job, new client or the promotion, here are my hints on how you not only differentiate yourself from others but distinguish yourself as the best possible person?

Here are the four pillars

      i.        Clarity

    ii.        Creativity

   iii.        Communication

   iv.        Customer-Experience Focus

CLARITY

The first pillar is clarity. This requires you to define who you are, what you care about, and more importantly, who you are not. This typically is something that we need to work on because it does not come naturally or worst still we have not written down our internal mission

CREATIVITY

We all want to be creative, but this should be done once we’ve developed the boundaries within the clarity. Otherwise (like I have done many times), you will wander aimlessly, creating new and unusual ideas without any guideposts.

COMMUNICATION

Ah yes, communication is an essential pillar of distinction. Incredible companies and leaders consistently communicate. When you are able to tell powerful stories, people will find it compelling and want to work with you.

CUSTOMER-EXPERIENCE FOCUS

From the many people I’ve interviewed over the years, the one thing that stands out is being able to create exceptional customer-focused experiences. There are different ideas of what makes a customer experience outstanding. Customer (client) experience is beyond customer service. So many companies that do this well communicate the vision, listen to the audience, have an effective feedback system, and continuously ask how each action will create a compelling experience.

Please share with me your thoughts on what else you would add?
